PENN STATE RELOCATES COMMUNITY RECRUITMENT CENTER TO DOWNTOWN PITTSBURGH’S LIBERTY CENTER

Pittsburgh – The Pennsylvania State University has leased approximately 2,100 square feet in the newly renovated Liberty Center retail corridor for its Community Recruitment Center and the establishment of a Continuing Education Office, according to J.R.Yocco of Grant Street Associates, who represented the university. Jack O’Donoghue and Michele Goetz of Grant Street Associates represented the landlord, Liberty Center Venture.

Penn State is moving its Pittsburgh Community Recruitment Center to downtown from the Point Breeze section of Pittsburgh. At present, the University’s only other location of this kind in the state is in Philadelphia. It plans to occupy its new first-floor space in October of this year.

Mike Phillips, Director of the Penn State Pittsburgh Community Recruitment Center, said Penn State selected Liberty Center from more than 15 competing properties for its easy-to-find location and close proximity to the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, which hosts one of the largest college fairs in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

“Our goal is to become more visible and accessible to the students, parents and schools of the City of Pittsburgh,” Phillips said.

Grant Street Associates, Inc., an independently owned and operated member of the Cushman & Wakefield Alliance, is a full-service commercial real estate firm specializing in tenant and agency representation, transactions and brokerage, consulting and corporate services. Penn State retained Grant Street Associates for tenant representation based on its affiliation with Cushman & Wakefield, with whom the University has worked successfully in other markets.

“Grant’s (Street Associates) representatives proved to be professional and responsive initially as well as throughout the process,” Phillips said.
